How I can help
If you are starting a business, you probably wish you could hire a lawyer to help you get started, which is smart, because you have important decisions to make.
Decisions that will affect how likely you are to get sued, how much taxes you'll pay, whether the government will come after you for misclassifying employees or misreporting income, and more. But most people can't afford a lawyer when they're starting a business.
My mission is to help Oregonians start businesses in the smartest way they can. I will work with you to achieve that mission.

Money
Most lawyers use a billing system that pits them against their clients. Charging a high hourly rate, and then sending bills that say “phone call: 0.4 hrs”, is bound to create strife. My job is to help you overcome difficulties. So why would I want to be yet another adversary of my client?
I’m not interested in sending a time-based bill and then haggling over it. I’m interested in providing excellent service and advice, with a fee structure that is reasonable, predictable, and will work for you. I do most of my work for a fixed fee that we agree upon up front, so there are no nasty surprises, and no second-guessing opaque invoices.
